Brent Mydland's last show with the Grateful Dead was on July 23, 1990, at the World Music Theatre in Tinley Park, Illinois. Mydland was the keyboardist and vocalist for the Grateful Dead from 1979 until his death in 1990. The performance at Tinley Park was the end of a three-night run, and Mydland played on all three nights. The show featured many classic Grateful Dead songs, including "Truckin'," "Sugar Magnolia," and "Uncle John's Band." Sadly, Mydland passed away less than a month later on July 26, 1990, due to an overdose of cocaine and alcohol. His contributions to the Grateful Dead's music and legacy are still appreciated by fans today.
